80th Birthday Celebration at Wildcat
During the Great Depression, the Civilian Conservation Corps, armed with axes and cross-cut saws, started clearing the Wildcat trail, one of the first ski racing trails built in the United States. Designed by Charley Proctor, the all-around ski champion of Canada in 1927, it was designated as a class "A" racing trail.
On April 5th, this anniversary will be commemorated at the 1st Annual Cat Scratch Fever in The Chutes at the base of Wildcat Mountain. Come cheer on competitors and sway the judges scores from easy vantage points located at the Bobcat Base Lodge or from the decks of the Main Base Lodge. No matter where you are, a party atmosphere will surround you. The Ross Livermore Band will either be playing outdoor snow stage in the Wildcat base area or inside the Wildcat Pub, depending on the weather, while Reklis will perform on the Snow Stage. Outdoor grills will be offering fresh cooked burgers and other assorted grilled deliciousness available for purchase. Wildcat's special Anniversary tickets are on sale through Wildcat only. You can purchase them online or call 888.SKI.WILD to purchase. They will be 2-day $80 passes. Green Granite is offering a Ski and Stay special! Book a room for just $80 for one adult (additional adults are $10 per person)* to stay Friday and Saturday nights April 4-5th when you call direct and request the Wildcat Special Promo.
